Emil Heiple's new comic novella, Powder Puff: The Making of a Man, critiques and reveries childhooddaydreams about football, feminism, junior high school, and assimilation.

"While emblazoning myself an Outcast, I hid away my inner quarterback that once thrived on the Powder Puff team. And in a time when the demand to explore connections between how we raise boys to how we glorify sports stars to the systematic abuse men project onto themselves and those around them is finally emerging, this pile of bones in my queer closet that is my past obsession with football and the urge to crush all weakness around me must be excavated."
